Paul Spencer Burial At Hopkins
Funeral services for Paul Spencer were held at the Wetmore Funeral Home, February 21, conducted by a former pastor of the Hopkins Baptist church, Rev. Norman Lewis of Forest City, Mo. Burial in Hopkins cemetery.
Andrew Paul Spencer, son of William Penn and Eva [Underwood] Spencer, was born in Taylor County, Iowa, Jan. 20, 1892 and died at Des Moines in Veterans hospital, Feb. 9, 1958, at age of 66 years and 29 days.
He lived practically all his life close to his birthplace, living one year in Pennsylvania in his infancy.
He was a member of Plumb Lodge No. 285, A. F. & A. M. at Siam, which held Masonic rites. He was also a veteran of World War I. He united with the Methodist church at Hopkins in his youth.
He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Lela Blake of Bedford, several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, mother and three brothers, Fred, Howard and Lee.
