Irene Ida Boedecker, 95, Sheboygan Falls went home to be with her Lord on Monday, July 30, 2012 at Sunny Ridge Nursing Home in Sheboygan.

She was born on January 29, 1917 in the Town of Herman, daughter of the late Gustave and Eleanor (Semph) Roeder.

Irene attended the Schwartzwald School for eight years. On August 22, 1936 she married Calvin Boedecker at St. John Evangelical and Reformed Church in Schwartzwald where she was baptized and confirmed. He preceded her in death on July 6, 2009.

Irene and Calvin farmed on the Homestead in the Town of Herman for many years. She was a member of the Johnsonville Homemakers, the Senior Center Crafters and Painters of Howards Grove, and traveled with her husband SPEBSQSA conventions through out the years visiting every state, with the exception of Alaska; they also found their way into Canada and Europe.

For numerous years she worked seasonally for HC Prange in the produce department. In her free time she enjoyed sewing robes for the Salvation Army, playing cards, and baking.

She was a member of Saron United Church of Christ in the Town of Sheboygan Falls, were she was a member of the Ladies Aid and held all offices.

Irene is survived by three children, Eleanor (Harold) Herwig, Town of Herman; Vernon (Sharon) Boedecker, Town of Sheboygan; Marvin (Susan) Boedecker, Town of Herman; 11 grandchildren, Marguerite (David) Briesch, Town of Herman; Kathleen (Todd) Walber, Plymouth; Charlotte Herwig, Town of Herman; Elizabeth (Edward) Depies, Town of Herman; Andrew (Kathy) Boedecker, Mainville, OH; Amanda Boedecker, Town of Herman; Heather Boedecker, Melbourne, KY; Ben (Kristin) Butzen, Fond du Lac; Nichole (Andy) Akright, Town of Herman; Jennifer (Joel) Propson, Chilton; Mark (Polly) Boedecker, Charolette, NC; 21 great-grandchildren, a sister, Dorothy (John) Liebman, a dear cousin, Orbella Swanson, and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Alfred and Shirley Boedecker. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Calvin, two brothers, Glen Roeder and Calvin Olm, and two sisters, Freda Koellmer and Ruth Kress, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Frederick and Sally Boedecker.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, August 6, 2012 at Saron United Church of Christ in the Town of Sheboygan Falls with the Rev. Kathryn Kuhn officiating. Burial will follow in the Saron United Church of Christ Cemetery.
