Carl Douglas "Pap" McKeehan, 84, of Muddy Creek Road in Berea, passed away Thursday, November 5, 2009, at the Hospice Compassionate Care Center in Richmond.
He was born in Madison County to the late John and Ida McKeehan. He was a retired mechanic and a member of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by five children: Darrell "Corky" (Juanita) McKeehan, Johnny (Melba) McKeehan, Gerald (Frances) McKeehan, Terry Dale (Teresa) McKeehan and Deborah (Eugene) Witter; one sister, Edna (Woodrow) Harrison; 16 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to his parents, Carl also was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Cruse McKeehan; one son, Howard "Gene" McKeehan, and seven brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, November 9, 2009, at Lakes Funeral Home with Rev. Neal Prather officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. at Lakes Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers will be Vince McKeehan, Stacy Mink, Kevin Mink, Rodney McIntosh, Joe Nobbe, Chad Eades, Gene Alan McKeehan and Mark McKeehan. Honorary bearers will be the rest of the grandchildren.
