His victories include the Champagne Stakes, the Cowdin Stakes, the Gotham Stakes, the Swale Stakes, the Travers Stakes, the Jockey Club Gold Cup, the Wood Memorial Stakes, the Whitney Handicap, the Woodward Stakes, the Suburban Handicap, and the Belmont Stakes. He won the 1988 United States Champion 2-Yr-Old Colt Award and was posthumously inducted into National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame in 1997. He was retired at age of 4 due to a bone chip in his right front ankle which ended his racing days.
