Alice B. Croffoot, 90, of Lena passed away on Friday, July 27, 2012 at the Lena Living Center.
She was born on February 20, 1922 in the Pleasant Valley area of Jo Daviess County to Daniel and Louise (Zink) Randecker.
She married Woodrow Curboy until his passing. Alice then married Kenneth Croffoot on February 15, 1952 in Mt. Carroll.
Alice worked as a nurses aid for many years at the Morgan Nursing Home in Stockton. She also worked as a cook at the Lena Continental Manor. She was employed later at Micro Switch where she assembled Mercury switches until her retirement. All of those years, she also farmed with her husband in the Orangeville, Shannon and Kent areas.
Alice attended Lena United Methodist Church. She was known for her bread making. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, canning, cooking and playing cards with close friends.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth of Lena; three daughters, Patricia Edler of Lena, Kathy (Marvin) Dominick of Freeport, and Julie Saxer and friend Bill Anderson of Green Bay, Wis.; one son, Steven (Patty Jo) Croffoot of Freeport. 11 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; a sister, Twila (Lewis) Orth of Baileyville; and one brother, Daniel (Rita) Randecker of Mendota.
She is prededed in death by her parents; two sisters, Wilma Havorka and Mabel Boelk; one son, Tim Curboy; and one son-in-law, Darius Edler.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 30 at the Leamon Funeral Home in Lena.
Visitation will be at 9 a.m. until the time of service on Monday. Officiating will be Rev. Brian LeBaron. Burial will be held at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport.
