Ollie Ola Glover AKA Ollie V. Fish Campbell was the daughter of Nathan O'Neal Glover and Emma Jane Gray (Young). Ollie was born in Arkansas. The family moved from Barbour County Alabama about 1891 after the death of Nathan's brother Franklin P. Glover. Nathan O'Neal Glover died in 1896 and her mother died the following year 1897. My grandfather Eli Chapman Glover and his brother George Franklin Glover hid in a tree when the county agents came to pick up the children. They watched as the girls, Ollie, Laura and Leila were taken away. Once the agents were gone they left and went to Potts Camp, MS and stayed with a friend of their fathers. It is unclear if Aunt Ollie was ever adoped or if she just took the name of the foster family. In those years it was not uncommon for orphans to be taken in by families without being adopted. They also had orphan trains that went to Arkansas and usually a girl was chosen to help in the house and a boy chosen to help in the fields. I have no idea if this was the case with Aunt Ollie. The children would not reunite or see each other for 41 years. I am not sure if Aunt Ollie was still alive in 1937 when my grandfather Eli traveled to Bastrop, La and reunited with his two sisters Laura and Leila. The newspaper article only mentioned Eli C. Glover, Aunt Laura and Aunt Leila and their nephew Gilbert Campbell. The photograph did not include Aunt Ollie in the paper and did not mention her name.
Several years after the reunion Gilbert was struck by a car and killed according to my grandfather. This event upset him tremendously.
