May 28, 1985 - Carroll Daily Times - Lake City — Asa B. Pearson, 90, a retired brickmason, died at his home here Monday, May 27, after a long illness. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 31, at the Huffman Memorial Chapel in Lake City with the Rev. David Plooster, pastor of First American Baptist church, officiating. Burial will be in the Lake City Cemetery with military honors by the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars posts. Friends may call at the Huffman Memorial Chapel in Lake City after noon Thursday.

Mr. Pearson is survived by his wife Nancy, Lake City; four daughters: Mrs. John (Ruth) Rotert, Berkley, Mich.; Mrs. Robert (Alice) Lindquist, Odebolt; Mrs. Vincent (Nancy) Lensing, Peopone, Illinois; and Mrs. Ed (Maty) Caraway, Duncan, Okla.; two sons: Asa Pearson Jr., Mt. Vernon, Wash., and T.J. Pearson, Duncan, Okla.; 20 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter.

Mr. Pearson was born in Rogersville, Tenn. on September 21, 1894, a son of Stoke and Eva Bailey Pearson. He was married to Nancy Vaughan on February 24, 1929, at Edison, Tenn. He came to Iowa in 1931. He was a World War I Army veteran.
