Dec. 19, 1930 - July 21, 2012 OKLAHOMA CITY Mildred Louise Barney, 81, passed away July 21, 2012. She was born on December 19, 1930 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Nelson and Marietta Scott McElroy. Louise graduated from The University of Oklahoma where she studied business and was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority. While at O.U. she met her husband Dr. Jack Alroy Barney and together they became devoted Sooner football fans. Louise was a dedicated and loving wife and mother who constantly performed small thoughtful tasks for others. She enjoyed playing bridge, tennis and traveling with her family and friends. Louise was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Scotty McElroy, and her sister, Kathryn Lawless. She is survived by her husband, Dr. Jack Alroy Barney, her daughter, Pamela Barney, two sisters, Barbara Price and her husband Gordon, Mary Boucher and her husband Frank. She is also survived by her brother, Jim McElroy and his wife Glenda, brother-in-law, Jerry Lawless, sister-in-law, Jeanne McElroy, sister-in-law, Anna Sue Barney as well as several nieces, nephews and dear friends. A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 4400 N. Shartel, Oklahoma City, OK 73118. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice .
