Mary Francis "Fannie" Doom was the daughter of Randolph Columbus Doom and Nancy H. Ward. **For her siblings, see her sister's gravesite, Helen Caroline Doom Ridge.
While in Nevada County, Frances Doom was a teacher in the local schools for 45 years, until her retirement in 1917. Following her retirement, she became affiliated with the Grass Valley Library and served as official librarian for about 15 years. Approximately 6 months prior to her death, she was relieved of part of her library duties and was given the title of librarian-emeritus.
Frances Doom died at the age of 85, at her home in Grass Valley, Nevada County, CA on Jan. 10, 1933. The local schools closed at 12:30, and the library closed between the hours of Noon and 3:30p.m. on Friday Jan. 13, 1933, to give everyone the opportunity to attend her funeral.
