Robert was the son of Moses Wright & Margaret (Edmondson).
He was born about 1780 in N.C. & died January 29, 1815 in the War of 1812. He served in the mounted infantry of Colonel Phillips & Capt. John Scott.
Robert married Nancy (Dale) between 1809-1810 in Anderson Co, TN. Nancy was born between 1790-1800 in North Carolina; she died between 1840-1850 in Anderson Co, TN. She was the daughter of William Riley Dale & a Miss Barden.

After Robert was killed in the War of 1812 the court awarded custody of his & Nancy's three children to Nancy's brother, William R. Dale, on October 13, 1817 in Anderson Co, TN.
