OBITUARY
A Mass for Francis E. Arny, 69, of Manahawkin will be at noon tomorrow in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Brant Beach.
Arrangements are by the Maxwell Funeral Home, Manahawkin.
Mr. Arny died Sunday in Southern Ocean County Hospital, Manahawkin.
He was employed by Iron Workers Local 480, Union, for 50 years, most recently as a business agent. He also worked for the union as president, vice president, financial secretary, treasurer and assistant business agent.
Mr. Arny was vice president of the New Jersey AFL-CIO and Building Trades Council of New Jersey.
He served as a trustee and co-chairman for the Iron Workers Funds.
Mr. Arny was a member and president of the Avenel Fire Co., the New Jersey State Exempt Fire Association and was a president of the Lions Club, Avenel.
Born in Elizabeth, he lived in Avenel before moving to Manahawkin.
Surviving are his wife, Marcella; sons, Harold J. and John F.; a daughter, Lesa Marie Gallagher; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
