Talmadge Todd Channell
Talmadge Todd Channell, age 35, of Chicago, Illinois, passed away March 8, 2012.
He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Russell Steven Morin.
Todd is survived by his wife Lisa Morin Channell, parents Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Alan Channell (Rhonda Murray), brother Murray Alan Channell. sister Meghann Frances Channell, parents in law Mr. and Mrs. Joe Carter Morrison (Jan Willcutt), brother and sister in law, Phillip and Jennifer Sexton, grandmother Frances Murray, wife of the late Talmadge Murray, grandmother Kate Watson, and uncles Mickey Channell (Debbie), Tyrone Murray (Marye Anna), and Scott Murray (Lisa).
Todd was born October 6, 1976. He excelled at his favorite sport, the game of golf. He married Lisa Morin on May 3, 2003. In 2007, they moved to Chicago, Illinois, which became their beloved new home. Todd enjoyed his job at the University of Chicago where he got to spend his time outdoors in the environment he loved best. In Chicago, Todd and Lisa enjoyed never ending fun including going to Cubs games, attending musicals and plays, playing bocce ball on the beach, eating weekend breakfasts together at their favorite brunch spots, playing in the snow, and taking long walks with their dog Scout. Together Todd and Lisa created a beautiful home and made wonderful friends. Everyone who knew Todd thought of him as sweet, kind, and generous. Todd will be deeply missed by all who knew him and loved him dearly.
Visitation will be held today, March 15, 2012, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Heritage Chapel Funeral Home & Cremations, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday. March 16, 2012, at 2:00 pm at Heritage Chapel Funeral Home & Cremations followed by a graveside service at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Pastor Bill Overstreet officiating.
Pallbearers are Murray Channell, Josh Detzler, David Channell, Bryan Coleman, Charles Bracknell, John Ebbert, Phillip Sexton, Dustin Spruill, and Trent Murray.
Honorary pallbearers are Casey Ensor, William Stanger, and Alderman James Cappleman of Chicago, Illinois. Special thanks to Helen Fernandes, Marcie Brim, Davida Carter, Breana Detzler, Lori Goldenhersch, Chris Jessup, Robert Kleinman, Jim Llewellyn, Kevin Ryan, Vicki Nix, and friends from the University of Chicago and Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Midwest.
