Everett, who starred in the 1970s television series 'Medical Center', played Dr. Joe Gannon for seven years which earned him two Golden Globes and an Emmy nomination. His career spanned more than 50 years and included guest starring roles on such TV series as 'The Love Boat', 'Murder, She Wrote', 'Melrose Place', 'Star Command', 'Without A Trace' and most recently, 'Castle'. His film credits include 'Rome Adventure' (1962), 'The Singing Nun' (1966), 'The Impossible Years' (1968), 'The Firechasers' (1971), 'Airplane II: The Sequel' (1982), 'The Jigsaw Murders' (1989), Gus Van Sant's 'Psycho' (1998) and 'Mulholland Drive' (2001). Everett, who was married to actress Shelby Grant for 45 years until her death in 2011, died at his home after a year-and-a-half-long battle with lung cancer.
