Bonnie Lee Parker was born on June 18, 1938 in Shawano, Wisconsin to parents, Robert and Hazel Tischhauser Erdmann. She died on July 21, 2012 at her home in Umatilla, Oregon at the age of 74 years. Bonnie attended schools in Wisconsin and later in Colorado where she graduated high school. She was united in marriage to Ronald D. Parker on June 17, 1956 in Fort Carson, Colorado. Bonnie worked at the Pueblo Army Depot in Pueblo, Colorado from 1961 until 1971. She then stayed at home to raise her children and later help with her grandchildren. Bonnie moved to Umatilla, Oregon 1995 where she has lived since. She served as a volunteer for Vange John Memorial Hospice for the last 17 years. Her family wishes to thank Dr. John and the entire staff who helped to take such wonderful care of Bonnie in her time of need. Bonnie had also volunteered at Umatilla High School in the reading program and at Weston High School as a grief counselor. She was a member of Grace and Mercy Lutheran Church, Hermiston, Oregon. Bonnie loved to play pinochle, play canasta, cooking, and most of all her time with family and her beloved Dixie. One of many Bonnie Parker quotes, "You got that right".
She is survived by her sons: Ronald Parker & wife Carol, Richland, WA, Robert Parker & wife Janice, Pueblo, CO, Pat Lafferty & wife Jody, Umatilla, OR; daughters: Rhonda Johnston & husband Kevin, Denver, CO, RaeAnn Schritter, & husband Alan, Richland, WA, Rochele Limper & husband Joerg, Pretoria, South Africa, Renea Parker, Umatilla, OR; Mother: Hazel Erdmann, Kennewick, WA; brothers: Jesse Erdmann & wife Beth, Wenatchee, WA, John Erdmann, Boone, CO; sister: Faith Cates, Richland, WA; 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Parker and her father, Robert Erdmann.
A celebration of life service will be held on Thursday, July 26, 2012 at 12:00 Noon at Grace & Mercy Lutheran Church (which holds services at Faith Presbyterian Church) 1005 SE 9th St., Hermiston, OR. Private family burial will be at Sunset Hills Cemetery, Umatilla, Oregon.
