Edward M. Rickey, age 81 years, passed away at his home in Hollandale Thursday, June 11, 1953, after a long illness.
The deceased was born January 20, 1872, in the town of Moscow, the son of James and Lucy Van Norman Rickey. His marriage to Miss Lauretta Robb took place Dec. 9, 1902, at Blanchardville by Rev. Chapman. They resided in Blanchardville where he was a stock buyer and also was connected with the late S. L. Mason in operating an army store for a number of years. Later, moving to Hollandale, they operated a café for 17 years and have resided there ever since.
In addition to his wife, he leaves two daughters, Gladys, Mrs. Elmer Dott of Dodgeville and Gwendolyn, Mrs. F. D. Breneman of North San Juan, Calif.; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by the parents, five brothers and three sisters.
The remains were rested at the Saether Funeral home.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 1:30 in the Hollandale Lutheran church, conducted by Rev. Clarence Benson. Burial was in Graceland cemetery, Blanchardville.
Pallbearers were Ole Strand, T.F. Burns, Patsy McCarragher, John Narum, Grant Morse, William Knight.
