Theresa Futch Pettit
Howe- Funeral services for Theresa Futch Pettit will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday July 24 in the Chapel on the Hill at Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Rev. Bobby Fletcher and Steven Medford will officiate with her grandsons, Jermery Schneider, Justin Schneider, Jeffrey Schneider, Jason Schneider, Garet Schneider, and Cooper Porter serving as pallbearers. Mrs. Pettit, 72, passed away Wednesday July 18.
Theresa was born January 28, 1940 in Sherman to the late Leonard and Kitty (Hancock) Futch. She attended Sherman schools. Theresa retired from the Howe ISD and was affectionately known as "Grandma" by the students and staff. She was a member of the Dorchester Baptist Church.
Mrs. Pettit will be remembered as an extremely kind and caring person. She loved her family more than anything, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by six sons, one daughter, daughters-in-laws and son-in-law; 16 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; two brothers, one sister, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four siblings; three husbands, Don Edward Brinlee, Glen Franklin Schneider, and Tommy Leslie Pettit; one grandson, Colton Rhett Porter; and one daughter-in-law, Cynthia Houston Schneider.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Monday July23 at Waldo Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association at PO Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
