Dr. David W. Vancamp (sic), 67, Dies at Plainfield
CARLISLE, Dec. 30. - Dr. David William Van Camp, past president of the Cumberland County Medical Society and the Cumberland Valley Medical Society, died at 5:10 o'clock this morning at his home in Plainfield, near Carlisle, after a brief illness. He was 67 years old and had practiced medicine in Plainfield and Carlisle since 1898, when he graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Medical School.
He was the son of the late J.E. and Della Keiser Van Camp, of Carlisle. He was a member of the staff of the Carlisle Hospital, and was an instructor in the Carlisle Hospital Nurses Training School until that institution was discontinued several years ago. At one time he served as physician for the Cumberland County Home. A past master of St. John's Lodge, F. and A.M., of Carlisle, he was a member of St. John's Royal Arch Chapter and Comandery, of Carlisle, and Zembo Temple of the Shrine, Harrisburg.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Grace Eppley Van Camp; a daughter, Mrs. Morris J. McKeown, of Verona, N.J.; a grandson, David William McKeown of Verona, and two sisters, Miss Anna Van Camp and Mrs. Rose Wardecker, both of Carlisle.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon at the Lutz funeral parlors, Carlisle, with the Rev. Paul F. Curfman, pastor of Zion Lutheran Church, Newville, officiating. Burial will be in Westminster Cemetery, Carlisle. The body may be viewed at the funeral parlors Sunday evening.
