Ethel A. Earhart Beamenderfer, 84, of Mount Joy passed away on Friday, July 20, 2012 at Hospice of Lancaster County, Mount Joy. Born in Rapho Township, she was the daughter of the late John K. and Mabel V. Stauffer Earhart.
Ethel was employed by the former Core States Bank for 29 years, retiring in 1993 as Assistant Manager. An active member of Mount Joy Church of God, she played the piano for the youth, sang in the choir, and served as a money counter. Ethel was a 1946 graduate of the former Mount Joy High School. She enjoyed cross-stitch, cooking, traveling and working crossword puzzles, but most of all, loved spending time with her family.
Ethel will be deeply missed by her children, Eugene Beamenderfer, husband of Denise of Palmyra, David Beamenderfer, husband of Kathy, and Wendy Farmer, wife of David, both of Mount Joy; eight grandchildren, Carrie, Mark, Nathan, Andrew, Shawn, Ryan, Lydia, and Anna; and four great grandchildren. A brother, J. Stanley Earhart preceded her in death.
A Funeral Celebration will be held at the Mount Joy Church of God, 30 East Main St., Mount Joy on Monday, July 23, 2012 at 11 am with Reverend Randall L. Bistline officiating. Interment to follow in East Fairview Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Manheim. Friends may call at the Church on Monday from 10 until 11am.
