Robert Charles Anderson [head of the Great Migration Study project] reported about John Jackson as part of _The Great Migration: Immigrants to New England, 1634–1635_, 4:26-28. Anderson estimated John Jackson's birth as "by 1614" based on his land ownership in 1635. John's death date ("bef 18 Sept 1648") was based on the date of the estate inventory. John's widow, Katherine (_____), married again to William White by 26 September 1648 [deed]. [1]

John Jackson's will called out "a" son and five daughters. In his Great Migration article, Anderson discusses various analysis about John Jackson's daughters, never mentioning this Elizabeth Jackson who married Thomas^2 West (John^1) at Beverly 12 December 1661. [VR] They had a family of say nine children. [2]

Elizabeth (Jackson) West was born about 1642, based on the reports of her age at death and cemetery record. Her Beverly death records call out her parents names.

(a) Beverly Vital Records: "[West], Elizebeth, w. Capt. Thomas, d. John and Kathrin Jackson, Oct. 12, 1708, a. 66 y. 9. m." [3]

(b) Beverly Town Clerks records: Elisabeth Jackson West d. October 12, 1708; she was the daughter of John & Catherine Jackson. She said 66 years and 9 mos at time of her death.[2]

(c) Ancient Burying Ground: "Elizabeth West … wife of Capt Thomas West aged about 67 years deceased Octr ye 12th Anno Dom 1708"[3]

Further note.
Sometime after John Jackson died, his house was purchased by John West. [1] Quite likely this is the same John West who was Thomas West's father. [5] John West, m1 Mary ___ and m2 Mary (____) Ley/Lee, is almost certainly the man for whom West Beach at Beverly was named. During their lifetimes, the father and son made agreement for the upkeep of the causeway. [6] Over the years, the responsibility was passed on to the children of Thomas and Elizabeth (West) Jackson. An account of "West Beach" was given by a descendant, Joseph E. Ober in about 1868. [7]
