| Birth: | Aug. 20, 1874 | | Death: | Mar. 23, 1917 |  Mrs. Laura Bowerman, wife of Henry Bowerman, died at 7 a.m. last Friday at her home, 2001 State Street, of a complication of diseases. Her health had been impaired for some time and she had been in a serious condition for several days. She was born in Salem, Ind., August 20, 1874, and had resided in Lafayette since she was five years old. She was the daughter of W.W. & Mrs. Henrietta Rutherford and was united in marriage with Mr. Bowerman June 12, 1907. Mrs. Bowerman was an earnest member of Congress Street M.E. church and was a women of noble character. She was greatly devoted to her home and family an was a kind neighbor. Besides the husband she leaves three children, Marjorie, age eight years; Amos Wesley, age six, and Harry Jr.,age three. She also leaves two sisters, one in this city and one living in Tweed, Mont., and her mother. The funeral was held at 2'o'clock Sunday afternoon from the house. Rev. C.A. Brown pastor of Congress Street M.E. church officiated. Interment in Fink cemetery. [Friday, March 30, 1917, The Lafayette Weekly Courier]
