Born Jan. 17, 1912 in Coweta, Okla., she was the daughter of Henry and Savanna (Pearson) Scroggins.
On June 18, 1941, she married William Leslie Johnson in Great Bend. He died on June 2, 1978.
A resident of Great Bend since 1939, coming from Coweta, Okla., she was a housekeeper and cook for Drs. Marion F. Russell Sr., and Jr. families and Tom and Clu Taylor. She loved her family and God, and to cook and entertain. She was passionate about helping others and was a wonderful friend to many.
Mrs. Johnson was a member of the First Baptist Church, where she was an active member and involved in church functions.
Survivors include a son, Jack Johnson, Pueblo, Colo.; a friend, Beth Chilcott, Great Bend; Woody Johnson family, Great Bend; Jean Johnson Family, Great Bend; Dink Garner family, Great Bend; the Bowser family of Minnesota, Baltimore, Md.; Augusta, Kan., and South Carolina; and a grandson, Jay Hawkins and family, Lee's Summit, Mo.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Floyd Scroggins. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Bryant Funeral Home with the Rev. Leroy Keith officiating. Burial will be at the Great Bend Cemetery.
Friends may visit from noon to 9 p.m., with family receiving friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Bryant Funeral Home.
