MAGNA, UT-On July 14, 2012, our hearts were broken when our Mother Doris Peterson, 79 passed away with her family by her side. She was born February 18, 1933 in Fairview Utah, to Ernest and Melba Poulsen. Doris attended and graduated from Bingham High School. While attending school she met and married Fred Peterson of Magna. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on 03/18/81. Doris retired from Meadow Gold Dairies. All were amazed by her abilities and passion for fine quilting. She soon started working part time at Mormon Handicraft. In her early years, it became apparent Mom had the patience and love for babies and children of all ages. There was not a child she could not calm, and this continued to the end of her life. The brightest light of her life were her grandchildren. She is survived by Leslie Lavado, E Scott Peterson, Lori Peterson, Julie (Ben) Tucker, and Lynette (Mike) Gardner. She was blessed with 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by her sister, Kathy (Del) Eastman. Preceded in death by her husband, Fred.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, July 20, 2012 at the Spencer 2nd Ward, 8051 W. 2700 S. Friends and family may call Thursday 6-8 p.m. at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 W. 2700 S., and Friday 12-12:45 p.m. at the church. Interment: Larkin Sunset Gardens.
