Although confined to a wheelchair, Mrs. Sackett is alert and has a ready smile when she relates her experiences of her youth. She was born in El Dorado County on August 23, 1857. Her advice "Keep busy and have a happy outlook on life if you want to live to be 100."

Clara Ann was the daughter of Isaac Stackpole and Betsey Stickney Houghton. Her father was born in New Hampshire. Both parents are buried at El Dorado Public Cemetery.
