Mrs. Susan Sackett, 82, of Mabbettsville, died on Sunday, March 6, at the Meadowview Nursing Home in Amenia, where she had been a patient for several weeks. The daughter of the late Thomas and Anne Curran Diegnan, Mrs. Sackett was born in the Town of Washington on April 25, 1877. She was the wife of the late George Sackett. Mrs. Sackett, affectionately regarded by the many pupils she had taught in her 55 years at the Mabbettsville school, had a wide circle of friends among their parents and relatives as well. She was a member of Washington Grange, the Visiting Nurse Committee, the Parent- Teacher Association and the American Legion Auxiliary. Mrs. Sackett is survived by two sisters-in-law, Mrs. James Diegnan of Mabbettsville and Mrs. Evelyn Diegnan of Cleveland, Ohio, and several nieces and nephews.Interment was in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
