On February 26, 1966, he was the pilot of a Douglas Destroyer Reconnaissance Bomber (RB-66) on a mission over North Vietnam. when his plane crashed. His remains were not recovered. His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial.
