Henrietta Askew is believed to the daughter of James Augustus Askew and Elizabeth Ann (Watford) Askew. Numerous sources indicate the birth year as 1934, but the headstone says 1924.

James Augustus Askew was b 1808-1809 in Bertie Co, NC; believed to be son of Aaron Askew and Martha (Alexander) Askew. Elizabeth Ann Watford was b 1813 in Bertie Co, NC, daughter of David and Martha A Watford. James Augustus Askew and Elizabeth Ann Watford married in 1830, moving to Madison Co TN sometime between the 1840 and 1850 census.
