Francis A. (Davenport) Wood was born December 11, 1875*, and departed this life March 7, 1928, being 63 years, two months and 26 days old. She was united in marriage December 15, 1883, to Henry Wood. She united with the Methodist Church at Flatwoods in 1889.
She was a good mother; almost worshipped her children even though they were all grown. She was always ready to help and care for them through sickness.
She leaves to mourn her loss—her dear companion, Henry Wood, three children: Fred of Jefferson City, Lonnie of Bagnell, Annie of Tuscumbia; and ten grandchildren; also two daughter-in-laws, Stella and Dessie, and one son-in-law, Homer Brown.
She has gone to meet loved ones who have gone on before, and have crossed over the dark river of death into a beautiful world of peace and sunshine where trouble sorrow and tears are never known.—contributed.
*There is an obvious typo on her birth date, but I have transcribed it as it appeared in the newspaper clipping.
I've been unable to locate a death certificte for her and have used the birth date shown on the 1900 U.S. Census for Miller County, MO.
Most likely she is buried with her husband in Tol-Wood Cemetery, Miller County, MO.
