Excerpt "A member of one of Richton Park's first families has died. Memorial services were last week for Henry Harris Pierce, Jr., 72, a pioneer resident and brother of Richton Park Village Clerk Mary Pierce. ... The Pierce family moved into the village in 1928. Henry was one of eight children born to Eva Irene and Henry Harris Pierce, Sr. Pierce was among the first students to graduate from Richton Park's elementary "school system", which at the time was a one-room school house.
