Harry was the fourth child of H H "Harry" Pierce, Sr. and his wife, E. Irena Hanes. He was known as "Junie" until the death of his father in 1958. Harry married Rosa Kathaleen "Kitty" Schroader on January 29,1946 in DuPage County, Illinois. They had four children; two sons and two daughters. Harry was 72 years, 9 months and 25 days old when he passed.

Excerpt "A member of one of Richton Park's first families has died. Memorial services were last week for Henry Harris Pierce, Jr., 72, a pioneer resident and brother of Richton Park Village Clerk Mary Pierce. ... The Pierce family moved into the village in 1928. Henry was one of eight children born to Eva Irene and Henry Harris Pierce, Sr. Pierce was among the first students to graduate from Richton Park's elementary "school system", which at the time was a one-room school house. After graduating from Thorton Township High School, Pierce went on to graduate from Vanderbilt University with a degree in financial planning. He was licensed as a Realtor and NASD stockbroker. ... Henry Pierce was a man of many skills and talents. He was the founder of an asphalt business, a construction company, a coal mining company, and PFS Services Investments and Taxes. He also purchased the largest and oldest family-owned supermarket equipment business in Nashville, Tenn. Pierce was also a patented inventor ... when Henry was offered the first Colonel Sanders Kentucky Fried Chicken franchise in Chicago Heights (Illinois), he declined the invitation because it would have interfered with his religious meetings. He concluded that the franchise would have been an excellent venture, but not for him ... In 1952, Pierce was baptized as a Jehovah's Witnesses. He ultimately moved to Sparta, Tenn. When Sparta (Tennessee) began construction on a new Kingdom Hall, Pierce accepted the assignment of working territories in DeKalb County (Tennessee). Community-minded, Pierce served as a Richton Park volunteer firefighter, was a member of the Chamber of Commerce in Rutherford County (Tennessee), a member of the Postal Advisory Board of Smyra (Tennessee), a member of Kiwanis, and a member of the National Federation of Independent Business Owners."
