The town manager of Merrillville, Ind., known for his honesty and ability to put people at ease, died Saturday in a car accident in northwest Indiana.
Rick Dal Corobbo, 52, was southbound in a town-owned 2002 Ford Explorer on Interstate Highway 65, about three miles south of Merrillville, when he came upon stopped traffic about 5:20 a.m., said Sgt. Richard Broughton of the Indiana State Police. Dal Corobbo slammed into the back of a tractor-trailer and died soon after arriving at St. Anthony Medical Center in Crown Point, Ind., Broughton said.
