Memorial services for William Louis Wardlaw, 84, of Hale Center, TX, will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, July 14, 2012, in the Hale Center Church of Christ with Norman Clayton officiating. Services are under the direction of Abell Funeral Home and Flower Shop of Hale Center, TX.
Mr. Wardlaw died in Amarillo, TX, Tuesday, July 10, 2012.
He was born March 25, 1928, in Hale County, TX to Roy Ethan and Harriett (Applewhite) Wardlaw. He married Georgia Belle Ligon in Hale Center. He was raised in Hale Center and owned and operated Fleur de Lis in Lubbock, TX and The Bridal House in Plainview, TX. He was a farmer, florist, caterer and business owner.
He was preceded in death by 3 sons, and a brother, Buddy Wardlaw, who was buried at sea during war.
He is survived by his wife Georgia Wardlaw of Hale Center, TX, a daughter, Holly Houk and husband Michael of Amarillo, TX, one grandson, Ryan Houk, 1 brother, Bobby Wardlaw and his wife Edna of Hale Center, TX and a sister, Mary Etta Hammitt of Stephenville, TX.
