Anna was born August 7, 1895, at Valentine, Cherry County, Nebraska, to Gottfried and Anna (Schwab) Kramer. Gottfried was born at Bern, Switzerland, and the Schwab family were immigrants from Germany. In the early 1900s the Kramer family settled in
the North Lima community, Big Bend Township. Here the children attended North Lima School. In 1906 Anna was christened in the Lutheran Faith with Mr. and Mrs. Voigt as sponsors. She later joined the Latter Day Saint Church at Chetek.
