Clarence Coleman "C.C." Moores Jr., 92, the widower of Ethel Mae Marcum Moores, passed away Saturday morning at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond.

Mr. Moores was born, January 19, 1920, the son of the late Clarence Coleman and Margaret Jalia Parke Moores. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, a retired farmer and a member of the Red House Baptist Church.

Mr. Moores and his family lived in London, Kentucky for several years. While there, he began and operated several businesses; he began the London Farm Service, a Ford tractor dealership, the London Slaughter House, and the Spring Lake Dairy. He also operated and managed the Riding Stables at Levi Jackson State Park and Pine Mountain State Park.

Survivors include: two daughters: Annette D. Daniels and Debra L. Moores; one son: Gerald C. Moores; one sister: Marguerite M. Long; two grandsons: Scotty A. Scharf (Charlotte F.) and Bryan C. Scharf; three great-grandchildren: Kira J. Scharf and Preston S. Scharf and Alexis M. Ward; one sister-in-law: Arizona Fortney and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son: Clarence Allen Moores; one great-grandchild: Brittany D. Scharf; four brothers: Russell F. Moores, Raymond P. Moores, Rhuben T. Moores, and J. Douglas Moores and three sisters: C. Lucille Benton, Frankie M. Tudor and Myra Elizabeth "Duckie" Moores.

Funeral Services at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Rev. Butch Tanner officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Richmond Cemetery. Visitation at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be: Gerald Moores, Scotty and Charlotte Scharf, Bryan Scharf, Buzz Cornelison, Jimmy Cornelison, Rusty Foley and David Lane.
