Margaret Meg Callan, 66, passed away on July 5, 2012 after a courageous five year battle with cancer. She retired to the area with her husband from Bordentown, New Jersey where she worked for the New Jersey Department of Health. In retirement she enjoyed going to the beach, painting, and was an active member of First Baptist Church of Callahan.
She was predeceased by her parents John and Blanche Heaney. Survivors include her husband, William Callan; son, Scott Callan; and brother, John S. Heaney of Lower Makefield, Pa.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Callahan, 45090 Green Avenue, Callahan, FL 32011. Interment will follow at the National Cemetery. The family will accept friends from 10:30 11 a.m. prior to the service. Arrangements are under the direction of Callahan Funeral Home.
