Birth: Dec. 29, 1843
Hague
Warren County
New York, USA
Death: Dec. 2, 1918
Marshalltown
Marshall County
Iowa, USA

My great grandfather married Rachel C. (Kate) Mace Feb. 12, 1874. They had one daughter, Aletha, in 1876. On 28 March 1886 he married Bertha Christiansen. They had a son Ellsworth (b. 1888) and possibly another son, Frank. On 17 Jan. 1895, he married Eliza J. Baker, his last wife. They had no children.

He was a Civil War veteran. He enlisted December 1st 1863 in York township, Carrol county, IL. and was discharged in Louisville KY. on July 12th 1865 at the end of the war. He was living at the Iowa Veteran's Home, Marshalltown, Iowa, when he died.

There is evidence to suggest he had a wife before he married my great grandmother.
