MAXINE BAKER, 79, died Monday, Oct 21, 2002 at Southfield Wellness Community. Private graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Graceland Cemetery with Pastor Ray Artrip officiating. Arrangements were made with the Foster Funeral Home. There will be no visitation.
Maxine Beatrice Hanson, daughter of Alvy and Alice Claflin Hanson, was born Oct 29, 1922 at Blairsburg and received her education here. On Nov. 14, 1944, she married Raymond Baker at Webster City. She had worked at Beam Manufacturing (Electrolux)duing World War II, than at Sprugeon's, Freak Hardware, and Parkhurst Hardware. They had resided in Webster City until 1955 then they farmed east of Webster City until 1968, when they returned to Webster City. Mr. Baker died July 9, 1987. She had resided at Southfield since August of this year.
Mrs. Baker is survived by special friends, Monetta Branyord, and Maxine Brownfield, both of Webster City; brothers, Lester Hanson of Ellsworth, and Leslie of Ames; Several nieces and nephews and cousins.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Robert Hanson.
She was a member of the Chruch of Christ.
