CHATSWORTH -- Peter Schroen, 87, died at 12:15 p.m.
Friday of a heart attack at his home here. He was a retired farmer.
Mr. Schroen was born in Germany, March 14, 1852 and with his mother and framily came to Peoria when he was a year old. Later the family removed to Germanville, where Mr. Schroen lived until 1926 when he came to Chatsworth.
His wife died several years ago. Surviving is a son Charles.

Peter Schroen, an honored citizen of Chatsworth, died suddently at his home in the village Friday shortly after the noon hour from a heart attack.
Mr. Schroen and his son, Charles, had kept bachelors' quarters since the death of the wife and mother. The son went to the home, which is across the street and near the garage owned by Charles Schroen, and found his father in a dying condition. A physician was called but the patient failed to rally and passed away about 12:15 o'clock.

Peter was the son of Johann Justus and Catharina (Catherine) Elisabeth (Steinberg) Schroen. His grandparents were Johann Valentine and Anna Elisabeth (Schwalm) Steinberg and his great grandparents were Johannes and Dorothea (Muth) Steinberg and Conrad Schwalm.
On June 7, 1880 he married Elizabeth Schaeffer in Livingston County, Illinois. Together they had two sons, Charles and Frederick William (AKA William F.) Schroen.
