U.S. Veteran Marvin Henry Roulette, age 83, of Maryville, passed away Saturday, February 23, 2008 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a member of the Robbinsville, North Carolina Masonic Lodge # 672 F & AM. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II in the South Pacific in the Treasury-Bougainville Operation, the Bismarck Archipelago Operation, the New Georgia Operation, and the Consolidation of the Northern Solomon Islands. After World War II, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves until 1949. Preceded in death by parents, Harvey Leroy and Texana Boring Roulette; brothers, Wyatt, Ollie, Howard, and Leroy Roulette; and sisters, Maggie Roulette Payne, Blanche Roulette Teffeteller, Belle Roulette Bolinger, and Ruth Roulette Edmonds. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Beatrice Webb Roulette; children, Richard and Susanne Roulette of Tega Cay, South Carolina, Carolyn Roulette LeQuire of Maryville, Betty and Charles Hudson of Cleveland, TN, and Janice and Craig Stromer of Maryville; grandchildren, Victoria Roulette Ahnert (Michael) of Memmingen, Germany, Christopher Roulette (Kristen) of Charlotte, North Carolina, Matthew LeQuire (Jessica) of Maiden, North Carolina, Melissa LeQuire McCarthy (Tom) of Havelock, North Carolina, Megan Stromer of Maryville; great grandchildren, Johanna and Katharina Ahnert of Germany, William Henry Roulette of Charlotte, North Carolina, Lillian, Abigail, and Allison LeQuire of Maiden, North Carolina, and Liam McCarthy of Havelock, North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held 7:00 p.m. Monday, February 25, 2008 at Miller Funeral Home Magnolia Chapel, Rev. Ted Witchen officiating. Family and friends will meet at Grandview Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday for a Masonic Graveside service. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday at Miller Funeral Home, Maryville, (865) 982-6041.
