He lost his left leg in the Civil War, at Gettysburg, July 1863. Then he was transferred to De Camp Hospital, Davids Island NY Harbor July 17-24, 1863. After the war, he migrated west to Union Parish, LA then to Robertson Co, TX.

Roll of Prisoners of War of unattached men, C. S. A., Paroled Jackson. Miss., May 19, 1865. Res. Union Par., La.
