Born December 9, 1913 in Spartanburg County, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Julia Ann (Foster) Fowler, and widow of Garvin O'Neal Mintz,, Sr.
Mrs. Mintz was retired from Spartanburg Regional Medical Center and a member of First Wesleyan Church of Spartanburg.
Surviving are a son, Garvin O'Neal (Bobbie) Mintz, Jr. of Chesnee; five grandchildren, Julie (Kevin) Price, Jamie (Sam) Mintz, Cherrye Chisholm, Brent (Missy) Sprouse, and Brian Sprouse; nine great-grandchildren; one great-grandson; and a special sister-in-law, Gladys Mintz Smith.
Funeral service was at 2:00 PM Sunday, July 8, 2012 at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Gary Long. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation followed in Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel.
Memorials could be made to the Children Shelter of the Upstate, PO Box 2663, Spartanburg, SC 29304.
