She was of medium height with olive complexion and brown eyes. She died in childbirth and was buried in a white robe with the infant in her arms. The inscription on her tomb in the Baptist churchyard, Beaver Creek, S.C., states that she died Oct. 23, 1848, aged 31 years, 5 months and 16 days, and left 8 children to mourn their loss.
