Wanda Leone Conway; 76, former resident of Birch Tree, MO. died Tuesday, December 11, 2007 in Independence, MO. She was born February 8, 1931, the daughter of Ollie and Edna Younger, in Montier, MO. She and her husband, William Conway, were married April 12, 1950 in Salem, Arkansas. She was employed by Brown Shoe Co. and Tobin Hamilton Shoe Co. from 1969 to 1983 before becoming bookkeeper for her husband's trucking company until 1998. She was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Conway, both of her parents, and a brother, Doyle L. Younger. Wanda was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Birch Tree, MO. She also enjoyed home-making, quilting, crocheting, and embroidering.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Becky Conway of Mountain View, Mo.; a daughter and son-in-law, Kellie and James Townsend of Odessa MO.; a sister, Winita Prewett of Verona MO.; and 7 grandchildren; James Townsend, Tim Townsend, Dalton Brake, Nick Townsend, Brett Conway, Kelsey Townsend, and Brook Conway.
Services were held Saturday, December 15, 2007 at the Church of God of Prophecy in Birch Tree, MO., with Bro. Roger Smith officiating. Interment was held in Oak Grove Cemetery in Birch Tree, MO under the direction of Yarber Mortuary, Mountain View, MO.
