Templeton's Oldest Resident Dies Saturday
Mrs. Sophia Klocke Will Be Buried Tuesday Morning
Templeton (Special) -- Funeral services will be held at 9:30 Tuesday morning in the Sacred Heart Church at Templeton for Mrs. Sophia Klocke, 91, Templeton's oldest resident, who died at her home Saturday evening following a week's illness. Her death was attributed to double pneumonia, complicated by her advanced age.
Msgr. F. Huesman will conduct the rites and burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Mrs. Klocke was born Sophia Sonderman at Steinheim, Germany, in 1848. She came to this country in 1880 and became one of the first to settle in the community which has since been her home.
She was a member of the Sacred Heart Church and of the Christian Mothers' Sodality of that parish.
Surviving are the following children: Joe Klocke of Dedham; Mrs. Theresa Korwes of Dedham; Mrs. Otto Behrens, (Bernadine), of Templeton; Tony Klocke of Templeton; Mrs. William Forbes, (Annie), of Eagle Grove; Agatha Klocke of Webster City, and Mary, who lived with her mother at home.
Her husband and three children, Mrs. Henry Espenhover of Roselle, John Klocke, who lived in North Dakota, and Henry Klocke of Malvern, Ia., preceded her in death.
In addition to her children, Mrs. Klocke is survived by forty grandchildren and forty-five great-grandchildren.
