Marching Orders Received
Another soldier receives the call, as marching orders arrive, from this campaign of strife and death, to heaven where we'll always be alive.
Our great Commander and our Chief has himself made for us the way he at port to welcome us, on our eternal homecoming day.
Now a soldier his campaign won, to his commander always true, received the final crown of life, as all God's faithful soldiers do.
The medals here on earth received, will be turned to rust in time, but his crown of life in Christ his Lord will throughout all the ages shine.
As for you who loved him here, and are left to bid adieu weep not long his marching on, he has only marched ahead of you.
He will be waiting up ahead when your voyage of life is done, and there to greet you at the port, with your Savior, God's Own Son.
In loving memory of Birch G. McVay
