Samuel was born in December 1869 in Illinois. He moved with his family to Jasper County, Iowa, Audubon County, Iowa, and Keya Paha County, Nebraska. Samuel married Mary Jane Wright on December 30, 1890 in Audubon County, Iowa. A son was born January 20, 1891 in New Whatcom, Washington, and he died December 23, 1892 in New Whatcom, Washington. Samuel married Esta A. UNKNOWN around 1897. He lived in Seattle, Washington in 1900 and 1901, residing on Eighth Street next to Cherry Street. He was listed as a teamster and/or drayman. Samuel died September 4, 1904 and was buried in Stuart Cemetery.
