Businessman. He was the wealthy owner of a soap factory when he purchased the Bavarian Brewery in 1860. It was first changed to the Eberhard Anheuser and Company, then became Anheuser-Busch in 1879. His daughter Lilly married Adolphus Busch, the owner of a brewery supply business.
