| Birth: | Apr. 18, 1918 | | Death: | Aug. 9, 2004 |  Musician. Born in Kearny, New Jersey, for over five decades he was jazz guitarist best known for his extensive solo and session work. He began playing guitar at the age of nine, and after graduating from high toured with George Hall's orchestra. In 1941, he was hired by the CBS radio studio orchestra, performing behind everyone from Perry Como to Frank Sinatra. During the 1950s and 1960s, he recorded for three different labels and wrote musical scores for the television series "Danger". He also played with Doc Severinsen's Orchestra on NBC's "The Tonight Show" until the early 1980s. With Frank Sinatra, he had concurrently working relationship in the studio and touring until he retired from playing guitar in 1988. He died in Denville, New Jersey.
