Birth: Nov. 6, 1825
Death: Jun. 17, 1914

Daughter of Anderson Hayes and Martha Blair. As a youngster came to middle Tennesse from North Carolina with her family. Married James Newton Hunter in 1848. They lived in Farmington, TN, and together they had nine children, eight who lived into adulthood. In 1862 Cynthia made the(at the time)long journey to Nashville to take the loyalty oath to the Union. Little else specific is known about her, but it appears she lead a long and active life, living so long as to enjoy the company of many great-grandchildren. She passed away in Bullard, TX while visiting her son, Dr. Ripley Hayes Hunter and therefore was buried there. Her husband is buried in Marshall County, TN.
