Birth: Dec. 15, 1905
Texas, USA
Death: Jan. 22, 1927
Georgetown
Williamson County
Texas, USA

Son of Robert S. Winchester and Mary Katherine Moore. Twin of Robert G. Winchester.

William was one of the ten Baylor University basketball players who lost his life in a single train/bus accident. Together they are known as the Immortal Ten.

It was because of this accident that Texas started constructing over-passes or underpasses at all places where state highways intersected with railroads. Across the United States, communities started requiring school buses to stop at all railroad crossings before proceeding.
