Jack Pender Castellaw

Texas, USA
Death: Jan. 22, 1927

Son of Jack Coleman Castellaw and Eliza Jane Lila Pender. Jack Pender Castellaw is buried in the Myrtle Cemetery in Ennis, Ellis County, Texas.

One of the ten Baylor University basketball players who lost his life in a single train/bus accident. Together they are known as the Immortal Ten.

It was because of this accident that Texas started constructing over-passes or underpasses at all places where state highways intersected with railroads. Across the United States, communities started requiring school buses to stop at all railroad crossings before proceeding.
