MINSTERL, Mary Ann "Brafford", died June 21, 2012 in Tampa. She was born Aug. 18, 1947 in Shelbyville, IN to Jack and Betty Brafford. She grew up in Bloomington, IN, graduated from Westport High School in Louisville and attended Indiana University. She was a member of Civil Air Patrol for 45 years. She took her pilot's training with CAP and participated in search and rescue missions in Virginia after Hurricane Camille. She spent 22 years as an Air Force wife. She consistently won recognition and awards for service to the American Red Cross as Chairman of Volunteers at the MacDill Station, and later to the Family Support Center at MacDill Air Force Base. She is survived by her husband of 41 years James R. Minsterl, Tampa; mother, Betty S. Brafford; sister, Dorothy Shaw-McIntyre (Mel) of Louisville; nieces, Kimberly Shaw Peters (Kyle) of Tucson AZ, and Cynthia Shaw of Louisville. Memorial service will be held at Middletown United Methodist Church 11 am Friday, June 29. Visitation will be at the church from 10 am until time of service. Interment will follow at Cave Hill Cemetery. A Memorial service will be held in Tampa at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Florida Great Pyrenees Club, Metropolitan Ministries, Inc. or Disabled American Veterans. Gonzalez Funeral Home
